Red Thyme Essential Oil 10ml
Red Thyme Essential Oil — 10ml
Red thyme is the crude, unrefined first distillation of thyme essential oil — its red-brown colour comes from the high phenol content, primarily thymol and carvacrol, which give it exceptional antimicrobial potency. Thyme has been used medicinally since ancient Egypt and Greece — the Egyptians used it in embalming, the Greeks burned it as temple incense, and it has been a cornerstone of European herbal medicine for centuries. Steam-distilled from the flowering herb of Thymus vulgaris grown in Spain, red thyme is one of the most powerful natural antiseptics available.
Scent Profile
Middle note. Warm, herbaceous, and intensely medicinal with a sharp, phenolic edge. Bold and assertive — the raw, unrefined character of thyme at its most potent.
Blends Beautifully With
Rosemary, lavender, lemon, and eucalyptus. Use sparingly in immune-support and respiratory blends where its potency is an asset.
What You Can Make With It

How to Use
Due to its very high phenol content, red thyme is a ‘hot’ oil that must always be used in significant dilution — it can cause skin irritation and sensitisation if applied undiluted. Avoid during pregnancy and with young children. Always seek qualified guidance when using therapeutically.
