Benzoin resin has been burned as sacred incense and used in healing traditions across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe for centuries. Derived from the bark of the Styrax benzoin tree, it has a warm, sweet, vanilla-like aroma with a rich, balsamic depth that is immediately comforting and grounding. Because benzoin is a resin rather than a true essential oil, it is presented here diluted in DPG (dipropylene glycol) to make it workable and easy to blend — retaining all of its characteristic warmth and therapeutic properties.
